have been applying to conferences all day, well I have only got round to applying for one, but I am sure others will be underway. Had a headache for most of the day too, which didn’t help when trying to link in research methodologies etc. Taking it easy this evening, on a different note, I am finding Netskape a really useful tool.
It’s amazing, I can add all sorts of widgets into as many tabs as I feel necessary. The ‘to-do’ list add on, has proven to be very useful. I spend so much time trying to organise my time unsuccesfully it seams. There is always something to do, a bill to pay, points to take off my drivign licence, insurance to renew blah blah blah.
I watched grand designs earlier, I have always been a major fan of architecture and the thought of building my house some day would be a dream come true. Having said that, I don’t know what my requirements might be, maybe a large wooden structure that would appear to be almost a treehouse, and a very large loft set in the middle of a forest. Woo some sort of veranda on the ground floor would also be nice. Maybe something like Michael Cains house in the film ‘Children of men’, I like that one, could be spooky at times. Whether the day will come I could afford such an extravagence is another story.

ll day I have been busy doing some research into e-assessment for a dissertation type document that is due in, in July. My eyes feel dizzy with exhaustion. I am in a right readin frenzy at the moment, from book to book in my spair time to reading at work too. I am rather enjoying ‘northern lights’, it reads very well. I am only three chapters in, so I will hold my reservations until I have completed it, being the cynic that I am.
Went to pottery last night, I have started to build a medium sized flower pot. I am
running out of new ideas for using pots, I am all potted out at home. How many more pots do I need? I should try and be a little more creative really and try something other than a sausage (coil) pot. Perhaps I could make a sculpture? Thats my next project sorted. I am also in the process of creating a mug for Dom, he likes large mugs, and he loves a good cup of tea. Perhaps it could be one of my presents to him on valentines day. Now I just need an inscription, I might write something in Welsh on it, such as: “I fy cariad Dom, panad o te plis, lot o llefrith a dim siwgwr!”.
Had another go on Sing Star last night, the novelty is wearing off, I must say. But I still get rather excited about it, just not as much as I did a couple of days ago. I am doing absolutely nothing tonight, I am going to sit back and put my feet up. Watch the telly, or put a movie on, or read my book. Bum, my turn to cook dinner tonight, perhaps risotto is on the card with chicken and chorizo. MMMM mmmm.

ell this blog thing isn’t going very well is it. I have already missed out the weekend, are people just too busy to maintain a blog these days, I read somewhere that there are millions of blogs out there. Are all these maintained regularly I wonder? Cue the excus
es: on Saturday I couldn’t update my blog because I went to visit a friend in North Wales, and by the time we arrived home it was too late, and I couldn’t be arsed. Yesterday I got sucked into my book – “In search of Elvis”, thanks to the book I am now a born again Elvis fan. He has this almost religious aura that you can just get sucked into. I dont know what it is, maybe his international status? Who doesn’t know Elvis! Is it a mixture of having so many talents, the looks, the moves, the musical talent – although I dont think he ever wrote a song. He carved his own music – Rock and Roll! Crafted from Blues and Country songs, amazing stuff. Anyway the book is a good’an! I went to see – Sweeney Todd last night, it was OK. Not a big fan of musicals, but it did the job. Perhaps a little too long for my liking, however it gave me an excuse to drink more red wine. Feeling it today though. A mixture of caffeen and hangover is not a good combination, I must admit. The guy sat next to me in the cinema kept freaking out. Now when it comes to scary movies I am the biggest coward of the lot. I scream, clench on to things, hide behind things and jump frequently. However you know ‘Sweeney Todd’ will have a few scary scenes, but hey its a musical so how bad could it be. I wasn’t scared in the slightest, but this guy, jeeze he was such a nancy. During each and every cut throat scene he would look away and his hand would jump to his throat as if to protect it. What was going on there?

as the first thing I had to say today, I was introducing myself to a room of 25 people. They were there to listen to me talk about my projects progress for ten whole minutes. I don’t think I am the best presenter in the world, but I bumbled through. A structure of incoherent, out of place words, which seemed to last forever. I had a lie in today, I like lie ins, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t. I love that sudden realisation that I don’t have to jump out of bed at lightning speed and run around like a headless chicken. ‘Lost in Translation’ is playing in the background, an observation of strangers meeting and lonelyness a long way from home. It’s OK, I always get drawn in. Thinking about food already, I might just have some toast and delicious butter to quench my hunger until later….

Well this is my first entry, I am not sure how long this will last, I have always intended of keeping and maintaining a diary, however it has always been short lived. As a child I would receive a diary at Christmas (amongst other things, I think I was probably rather spoilt) with the intention of filling it with notes and comments on my experiences. I dont quite know what happened to all those little books, but I know that I never saw them again after January. Anyway, I am attending a course in London called Netskills, it is centred on e-learning; this has inspired me to create and maitain a blog/journal/diary. I must say this site looks pretty snazzy. I also want to add that I saw Jamie Oliver this morning, from a distance of course. He looked like a bit of a moomin with all that make up on, he was in the process of filming a Sainsburies advert I think. Cant wait to see that on the box. It always puzzles me why people get excited around celebrities, just a glimpse or the surroundings of the cameras, lights and directors chairs. Not quite sure, very strange though. And finally I swear temporarily to keep this blog thing going….
